Montreal's Mount Royal in the Rain
This summer Montreal has seen a lot of rain. And while that may be unfortunate for those looking to take advantage of the sun, if you got a camera and don't mind getting a little wet, the rain can create some really fun landscape photo opportunities.
This photograph was taken at the cross found atop Mount Royal. It's a Montreal landmark, standing over 30 meters high, it can be found at the northeastern peak of the mountain and overlooks the eastern part of the island.
When I got to the cross it was raining. I setup my gear and waited for the lightning to strike. Unfortunately, the bursts of light hitting the sky every few minutes as I climbed the mountain seemed to stop as soon as I started to take photos. I was a little to late, which is unfortunate because lightning is an amazing subject to try and photograph. Nonetheless, I love the rain, and the blue tones I was able to capture. This is definitely one of my favourite Mount Royal Cross photos.
